The
Trail
Distance
and trails:
Sanctioned
for 11km.
5km:
The Hiking Club Trail goes across a man-made causeway to Loon
Island.
Then
goes past a fish rearing pond used to raise fish for stocking
local lakes.
Trail
is fairly flat and is mostly of dirt and grass covering.
6km: The Monument Trail follows the shores of Lake
Shetek out to the Lake Shetek monument. The trail then follows
the shores of Smith Lake up to the Casey Jones State Trail
and
back to the registration area.

State
Park Vehicle Permit
A
state park vehicle permit is required when you enter any state
park. Daily permits cost $7.
An
annual permit can be purchased for $35 and entitles you to an
unlimited number of visits to
any
and all Minnesota State Parks for 12 months after date of
purchase.
Refreshments:
Water and restrooms are available at the picnic shelter.
NSTT
will offer a participant picnic throughout the day for a
donation to cover costs.

Getting
There
163
State Park Rd., Currie. Approximately 175 miles southwest of the
Twin Cities.
Because
of bridge constuction in Currie, best to take Hwy. 14 to Tracy,
then
south on Hwy. 11/38 to the park. Located in Murray County.
Lodging:
The
group camp at Camden will be available for group camping.
Cost
is $75/night and will be split evenly between campers.
No
electricity available and large rigs cannot access the
campground.
