Registration

Start/finish: Picnic Island Shelter A.
Register between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. and finish by 4 p.m.
Note: Registration for this event will be in the picnic shelter.
It is heated only by central fireplace so dress appropriately!

The Trail
Sanctioned for 7km.
Provide your own snowshoes!

A 2 km flat trail around Picnic Island. Can be walked both directions. Walkers wishing additional distance can drive to the Visitor Center parking lot and walk the winter trail on Pike Island for an additional 5km. Pike Island trail will not be marked.

We ask that you print the registration sheet using link below,
fill it out and bring it to the event along with your payment.
This will decrease the handling of money.
If you pay cash please bring exact change.

Getting There

Ft. Snelling State Park is across the freeway from the MSP airport.

Take the Post Rd. exit from MN 5 and follow the signs.

State Park Vehicle Permit

A state park vehicle permit is required when you enter any state park. Daily permits cost $7.
An annual permit can be purchased for $35 and entitles you to an unlimited number of visits to any and all Minnesota State Parks for 12 months after date of purchase.
